Fiona Austin Director

Fiona is the founder and director of Austin Design Associates. After completing her education in Fine Art and Design, she worked for several interior design magazines, including Home Beautiful, The Period Home Renovator, House and Garden Design Series, Belle and The Age Home Section, as well as practicing as an interior designer. Fiona has extensive experience working with building and design professionals, corporate clients, as well as private home owners. She has a particular interest in prominent 1950’s–60’s Melbourne architecture. Fiona is married to a design academic and has two teenage sons. She has been a member of the Design Institute since graduating in 1982. Fiona has recently been made a Fellow of the Design Institue of Australia.

Sophie Simpson Senior Interior Designer

Sophie joined Austin Design after graduating from Interior Design in 2006. A member of the DIA, she has been involved in organising the annual Spring dinner. Sophie has had a lifelong love for all design disciplines, with a particular passion for the simplicity of Scandinavian design.

Amber Ma Senior Interior Architect

Amber joined Austin Design Associates in 2009 after graduating from Interior Architecture at the University of South Australia, winning several awards. She believes good design can change the way we use and think about space. She is interested in experiencing many cultures and their approach to design to gain a broader understanding and knowledge.

Lotti Dunsford Interior Designer

Lotti studied Interior Architecture at the University of South Australia and during her course travelled to Italy and Denmark where she discovered her love for Scandinavian design and architecture. After graduating from University, Lotti worked for one of Australia's leading contemporary furniture designers, Khai Liew. During this time she watched and learnt about the historical and technical sides of furniture making and design. Lotti is an active member of the Design Institute of Australia and plans to travel to her favorite city New York each year for inspiration.

Jo Johnston Office Manager

Jo is very experienced in administration, accounting, and office management. She also has a love of interior design, colour and mid century architecture, and enjoys combining all of these interests in her day to day work.
